ISKSAA IMRI TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP

I had the pleasure and honour of a fellowship by ISKSAA at Adelaide, Australia. It was a 3 weeks long fellowship in the beautiful and peaceful city of adelaide. The reception by Mr. Donald Bramwell at Adelaide airport was very warm, he made sure of dropping me to the lovely accomodation at Belairhills , shopping for necessities and food stuff.

The fellowship began at Repatriation hospital, a govtsetup , with all specialities, and covering all aspects of othopaedics under various heads. My interest was more towards observing TKR's and THR's both revision and primary. The best part of the fellowship was the nature and the knowledge of surgeons, even the senior most surgeons like Dr. Middleton were very open to discussions and opinions, learnt about the intricasies of knee balancing and mid-flexion instability. Also had the chance to visit Flinders Hospital and Ashford hospital, got exposure to navigation assisted knee arthroplasty, made to look terribly simple by Dr. Jegan Krishnan. Lavish lunches, morning discussions, weekend trips , night life, the fellowship had it all.

It was a pleasurable and an immensely wonderful learning experience . Thanks to Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj and ISKSAA for giving me the opportunity . Looking forward to more such experiences for Revision arthroplasty in the future .
