To begin with I would like to thank Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj and Dr. LalitMaini for giving me this opportunity to go to Shoulder Surgery Center Cervesi Hospital in Italy under Dr. Paolo Palladini for a two week fellowship. I landed in Milan and reached Cattolica with help of a train and sorted out my accommodation a day before starting the fellowship. The day started beautifully with Palladini sir making us feel welcomed and comfortable.
He made sure that all the legal formalities are being taken care of and we need not miss out on the day.
They had interesting OT lists with cases like Total Anatomical Shoulder Replacement,Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty,Latarjet Surgery,Shoulder Arthroscopic procedures like bankart repair, Rotator cuff repair,Remplisage etc.
We were fortunate to watch experts like Dr. Paolo perform surgeries with outmost precision and he made sure that we understood each and every step. He obliged us by patiently answering all our queries.
We also discussed a variety of cases and had much more detailed learning of the subject.
We also got an opportunity to watch an expert deal with his patients in the out patient setting. It was a completely different experience and there’s a lot I could take in from the way he carried himself in front of his patients.
Overall it has been a great experience starting from some fun at Rome, to the academic feast at Cattolica and a wonderful fellowship. It has kept me longing for more.
I would again like to thank Dr, LalitMaini and Dr, Pushpinder Bajaj for giving budding orthopaedic surgeons the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills.
