ISKSAA MAX MOHALI TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2025
I was selected to be a part of the ISKSAA MAX MOHALI Fellowship 2025 and completed the program in May 2025. I am extremely grateful to Dr. Pushpinder Bajaj, Dr. Lalit Maini, and all the ISKSAA members for considering me for this incredible opportunity.
I was fortunate to work under the mentorship of Dr. Sandeep Gupta and Dr. Jatinder Singla. During my time there, I had the chance to observe and assist with a variety of surgeries, including revision arthroplasty, primary knee and hip replacements, and arthroscopic surgeries. Both Dr. Gupta and Dr. Singla allowed me to assist in surgeries and actively participated in outpatient and inpatient management. They also imparted invaluable knowledge on patient approach, pre-operative planning, and post-operative protocols. Both mentors went out of their way to teach and guide us, sharing essential tips and tricks that will prove helpful in the future.
A particular highlight of the fellowship was Dr. Singla’s partial knee replacement surgery, which was entirely new to me. The long-term outcomes of these patients changed my perspective on the disease. Dr. Singla also introduced us to the subvastus/midvastus approach for total knee replacements.
Dr. Gupta’s approach to periprosthetic infections, the medical management of infections, and various hip disorders helped broaden my understanding of these critical areas. His patient-handling methods and evidence-based, protocol-oriented approach have taught me the importance of following structured, systematic guidelines in clinical practice.
Overall, this fellowship has been an incredibly enriching and knowledge-enhancing experience. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to the staff and other residents at Max Mohali for their constant support and assistance throughout the fellowship.
