ISKSAA ABERDEEN UK TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2022 REPORT

At the outset I would like to thank Dr Pushpinder Bajaj and Dr Lalit Maini for considering me for the fellowship.

I was accompanied by Dr Bharat Bahre who is an experienced surgeon and a good friend. We stayed together at Aberdeen and shared our experiences.

I had a pleasant experience with Dr Kapil kumar at Aberdeen during my fellowship. Dr Kapil is an experienced and skilled surgeon at Woodend Hospital and well recognised amongst his colleagues. He also encourages the fellows to observe other surgeons in NHS during the fellowship.

I attended this fellowship from 5th to 18th June 2023 where I got to see various shoulder surgeries- both arthroscopy and arthroplasty which included subacromial decompression, rotator cuff repair and reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Anatomical shoulder arthroplasty requires a special mention.

Weekends were free days where we got chance to visit countryside which is picturesque. I got the chance to visit Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness. Royal surgeons museum is a must visit attraction in Edinburgh.

I strongly recommend this fellowship to all surgeons who are practising shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty.
