ISKSAA BIOTEK TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2025
Speciality: Arthroscopy (Knee / Shoulder)
Location: Kolkata, India
Mentor: Dr. Rajeev Raman (General Secretary, IOA & IAS)
I am pleased to report the successful completion of my ISKSAA Biotek Travelling Fellowship in Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty (Knee/Shoulder) under the esteemed mentorship of Dr. Rajeev Raman, held in Kolkata.
During this intensive one-week fellowship, I had the invaluable opportunity to assist in numerous advanced arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder and knee, including rotator cuff repairs, ACL reconstructions, and meniscal surgeries. Additionally, I was also exposed to hip arthroplasty procedures, enriching my understanding of both primary and complex replacement techniques.
One of the highlights of the fellowship was the hands-on surgical training provided, which significantly enhanced my practical skills and broadened my clinical perspectives. The experience was not only technically enriching but also academically inspiring.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Rajeev Raman Sir, whose generous attitude toward teaching and mentoring left a profound impact on me. His commitment to orthopaedic education, meticulous approach to surgery, and warm, inclusive nature created an ideal learning environment for young surgeons like myself. He took great care in guiding each fellow, ensuring our active involvement, and learning at every step.
I am also thankful to BIOTEK for their constant support throughout the fellowship. Their contribution in facilitating academic growth for young orthopaedic surgeons is commendable and deeply appreciated.
This fellowship has further deepened my passion for arthroscopy and arthroplasty, and I look forward to implementing the skills and knowledge acquired here in my clinical practice.
