ISKSAA BATHINDA TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP 2025
First of all i want to express my gratitude to ISKSAA , Dr Pushpinder Bajaj sir and Dr Lalit Mani sir for giving me the opportunity to work with Dr PS Nagpal sir and get the experience of Robotic joint replacement surgeries. I must say Its a centre of excellence with great work load having 2 different Robotic system working efficiently under his expertise.It was a great experience to learn how Robotic surgery can be done efficiently and in less operative time even in heavy load of patients. My most valuable experience was to learn how to give consistant excellent functional outcomes to patients not only by surgical skill and precision but also through proper pre operative planning, Intraoperative care, and well set post operative protocols set by Sir. I found him a very dedicated teacher who wants to teach his fellows the skills and always ready to answer to all doubts and even in his busy schedule ready to make fellows understand how to make planning for surgeries while using the Robot. Even while doing conventional surgeries sir will take his best efforts to teach the principles of balancing, releases and cuts. It's a very good center with lots of hand on opportunity to learn joint replacement surgeries both conventional Robotic and revisions.
I had exposure to both primary and complex primary TKR (severe varus with FFD, Valgus knee, Rheumatoid knee with FFD, managing bone loss in primary cases and THR). Also assisted him in 2 cases of PJI where prosthesis removal and spacer was done.
It was an excellent learning experience .
